Types

Which type suits your building?

All three carry passengers smoothly and safely. They differ in where the machine sits and how the car is hung. We recommend the type after we see your building, its height and how many people use it each day.

MRL (machine-room-less)

The machine sits inside the shaft, so you do not need to build a separate machine room. That frees floor area on the roof or the top floor, and it suits most apartment blocks and offices.

Traction with machine room

The car hangs from steel ropes with a counterweight, and the motor sits in a machine room above the shaft. It suits taller buildings and heavy daily use, and the machine room gives our technicians easy access to the equipment.

Belt drive

Flat, coated steel belts replace the ropes and run over a compact machine. The ride is smooth and quiet, the machine takes up little space, and the belts last longer than steel ropes.

For buildings up to G+4 (five stops), a hydraulic lift is also an option. Beyond G+4, MRL and belt-drive lifts are the practical choice.

Every building and layout

Made to fit your building.

We fit passenger lifts in apartment blocks, offices, hospitals, hotels, schools, shops and mixed-use buildings. Your lift can have one entrance, entrances on opposite sides, or entrances on adjacent sides, and we plan the car, the doors and the shaft around whichever you need.

Sizes

From 4 to 24 passengers.

Too small and people wait. Too big and you pay for space you do not use. A small residential block may need a 4 or 6 passenger lift, and a busy office, hospital or hotel may need 16 or 24. Tell us how many people live or work in the building and how many floors it has, and we suggest the capacity and the number of lifts.

Automatic doors

Centre-opening or side-opening automatic doors from established makers such as Wittur and Fermator.

Your choice of cabin

Panels, glass, mirrors, lighting and flooring chosen to match your lobby.

Our design office

We draw every part of your lift after measuring your shaft, and our own crew installs it.

After handover

Looked after after handover.

Passenger lifts have a 1-year warranty from handover and 12 months of free planned maintenance, and every lift is tested before we hand it over. You can add an annual maintenance contract, and we also maintain lifts of other makes.

Questions

What people ask about passenger lifts.

What is an MRL lift?

An MRL, or machine-room-less, lift keeps its machine inside the shaft, so the building needs no separate machine room. It suits most apartment blocks and offices.

Which type is best for my building?

It depends on the height, the daily traffic, the space on the top floor and your budget. Up to G+4 (five stops) a hydraulic lift is also an option. For taller buildings, MRL and belt-drive lifts are the practical choices. We recommend a type after a site visit, and the visit is free.

How many passengers can the lift carry?

We supply passenger lifts for 4 to 24 passengers.

Can the lift have two entrances?

Yes. We design lifts with a single entrance, with entrances on opposite sides, and with entrances on adjacent sides.

What warranty do I get?

Passenger lifts have a 1-year warranty from handover against manufacturing defects and poor workmanship. The first 12 months of planned maintenance are free. We test every lift before handover, and you can add an annual maintenance contract.

Do you maintain lifts that someone else installed?

Yes. We offer annual maintenance contracts for other makes of lift as well.

How much does a passenger lift cost?

The cost depends on the capacity, the number of floors, the type, the doors and the finish. After a free site visit we send a written quote.
